    California continues the roller coaster between high and low pressure systems typical of summer. A strong high pressure system remains in place bringing above average temperatures to the region into next week. Monsoonal moisture from the south will keep the threat of lightning and thunderstorms in the region this week. Moderate on shore flow will keep the coastal areas near norms with inland areas reaching the upper 90s to low 100s. Long range models keep the warm temperatures in the region through the end of July.

    High pressure out west to begin the week with temperatures in the 70s to low 80 along the coast to upper 90s inland today. Beginning tomorrow onshore flow and a return of the morning marine layer presence will keep the coastal regions near to just above normal as inland regions warm to the mid 90s.

    Central California continues the rollercoaster between high and low pressure systems typical of summer. Monsoonal moisture will keep humidity high and may bring some thunderstorm activity to Central California this week. A strong high pressure system returns mid-week bringing above average temperatures and possible heat wave to the region into next week.

    Central California continues the rollercoaster between high and low pressure systems typical of summer. Low pressure returns mid-week with a cooling trend into the weekend. Monsoonal moisture will keep humidity high and may bring some thunderstorm activity to California into the weekend. A strong high pressure system returns early next week bringing above average temperatures and possible heat wave to the region next week.

    The return of onshore flow and the morning marine layer on the west coast will keep the coastal regions near to just above normal as inland regions warm to the mid 90s through mid-week. High pressure returns late this week with continued warming into early next week. Hot temperatures return to the inland regions with triple digit temperatures expected by late this week.

    The return of onshore flow and the morning marine layer on the west coast will keep the coastal regions near to just above normal as inland regions warm to just the mid 80s through mid-week. High pressure returns late this week with continued warming into late next week. Hot temperatures return to the inland regions with triple digit temperatures expected by early next week. On the East coast Tropical Storm Arthur is expected to track along the coast slowly moving northeast while gaining strength. This system is likely to become a hurricane however current tracking keeps most of the energy offshore as forecasters keep a close eye on this system.
