Freedom Fresh has NOT received any of the affected product in Dole's recall of 8oz bags of spinach, coded A27409B & A27409A, with an enjoy-by-date of October 15. At this time, we have no reason to believe that any Freedom Fresh managed customers are affected by this recall.

Blueberry supplies remain extremely short in California and will continually decrease moving into the weekend. Transfers of fruit have been very slow to hit the west coast and offshore arrivals have been minimal. Freedom Fresh has received harsh fill-rates on open market orders up to this point, but supplies are even lower now. As demand exceeds supply, our shippers will be struggling to cover our orders throughout this weekend.

The low pressure system moving through Southern California today will continue to move off to the east as high pressure returns midweek. This system that brought light rain to Southern California Sunday will incorporate moisture from the Pacific Ocean as it moves to the east. This will bring a cool down, strong winds and a chance of precipitation to the Southwestern desert locals today into Tuesday. The southeast remains under an extremely wet pattern into tomorrow as a low pressure system continues to stream in moisture from the Atlantic Ocean.
  • The Source - October 1, 2015
The West Coast will continue to see the battle between high and low pressure systems typical of fall. The Southwestern Desert regions will see near record highs today under the strong ridge as Central Mexico and locals to the north prepare for widespread moisture from Tropical Depression Marty off the Baja coast. The Southeast will continue to see a wet pattern especially North Carolina as a conveyor belt of moisture from the North moves through the region. Tricky forecast that needs watching as Hurricane Juaquin meanders around the Bahamas before tracking to the north later this week.
